3790 a trip to concrete

WHA!

That right my 3790 happened to meet good ole solid concrete today. This morning after some intresting traffic dives, all my stuff shifted. Normaly the notebook doesnt even move at all. But today was different.

Long behold I open the door, and it takes a strait shot down before i can even angle my foot to break the fall. Tankfully it was in a normal camping packpack, so it took someof the blow. But sadly it did not take all of it.

it landed on LCD lower right corner (thankfully yet not) so its a little stronger place. It dented in the side tab, with no damage to the screen. Only damage seems to be a small and I do meen small scratch on the lcd (take a direct reflection of light for it to show up).

But other than the dent in the plasic, the caseing seems to have come out alight, but sadly its not the end of the tale. The dvd/cd-r combo drive does seem as if it was effected. The force to which was applie when it hit (dvd side) cause the dvd drive to unplug its self

After pluging it back in, it still seems to stick out a bit, and now its making weird arse noises. I guess im gonna have to rip this sucker apart and figure out what it may be.

Now i hope none of you have had to test this, but the case is build quite solid.

Ouch, laptops + concrete = bad

I've witnessed some particularly nasty cases myself (ruined screens, for example, are never pretty to look at). You're lucky that the optical drive was the only part that was really negatively affected...

Are you sure the dvd-rom drive is fully plugged in? It shouldn't stick out because when I replaced my dvd-rom drive it took some effort to insert it fully.
