Doubling RAM to 1GB - What Brand? - Page 2

I agree almost all PC2700 SODIMM are going to give exactly the same performance. But some brands do send out more bad DIMMS and some have better warranty than others. It is rare for memory to go bad, if it wasn't bad to start with but it happens. Companies that have lifetime no hassle warranties are a nice bonus though.

I bought RAM from www.swissbit.com. No problems at all. My 8600 hums along with 1.5gb of RAM now.

I agree. RAM is RAM. Get the best deal, find a reasonable warranty and buy it.

Oooh yeeah.....RAM is RAM is RAM. I was looking for COOLER ram but it just don't exist!!!!

I had a neat teeeny tiny stick of pc2700 Elixir SODIMM that was significantly smaller all the way around than regular SODIMM but I still saw mid to high 40's with it. Then I had another stick of Mosel Vitalic SODIMM and it was standard sized PCB, but the same thing......mid 40's to high 40's all day & all night. I finally gave up & put my original Dell sticks back in. Might as well be hot & cheap than hot & expensive!!!
