PS2 Emulation

I have some games that i want to play for PS2, but i hate taking my PS2 everywhere. Does anyone know of an emulator that works consistently? Is it illegal to distribute bios's?

:NOTE: please do not talk about ROMs here, i already know how to get the rom's, so lets not get this thread deleted.

I believe the only good one out there at the moment is PCSX2
