dont know what to expect, whats the general consensus?

The general consensus is don't be afraid to think for yourself. You're asking in a place where those who are happy with what they have are much less likely to post than those who are unhappy. Just have an open mind and don't follow the mass hysteria.

I'm going to have to say its all up to you. Both me and my friend hated the WUXGA screen on his I9200. I'm glad I got the WXGA+

hey, I have the 8600 WUXGA. I didn't know this forum existed and made the dreaded mistake of thinking more expensive was better and got in on the $750 off deal.

Overall it rocks. The clarity is sick and it is totally useable. But, if I had it to over again I'd opt for a lower resolution. Dell wouldn't let me return it for a lower res and still keep the $750 deal so I decided to keep it.

So, after a month + with it, I still enjoy it, though looking at it for extended periods of time does strain eyes.

I had no clue whether I would like the WUXGA or the WSXGA+ better when I ordered my 9100. So, during the $750 deal, I ordered both. After a week, I returned the WUXGA.

I'm sorry santisurf but I have to disagree. We've all established it's the anti-glare coating. Dell has said it's the anti-glare coating. Cnet has said it's the anti-glare coating. And all the users with the WUXGA have said it's the anti-glare coating. We have articles describing the new anti-glare coating and its effects.

While I praise your helpful intentions, you're not addressing the same problem. There's nothing we can do about our WUXGA problem short of getting a new LCD replacement.

Thanks anyway!

I agree....definately is a PHYSICAL problem on the WUXGA screen...nothing that ANY software can fix. It's a shame too...laptop would be practically perfect if it didn't have that coating on it.

It is not "software wise". It is the coating on the screen.

Uhh.

9200 != 9100.

What makes you think that the problem you had with your 9100 is the exact same one the 9200 has?
