More info on Sager notebooks

hi
I'm trying to make some really difficult decisions regarding a new Laptop.
I've compiled my own table comparing Alienware to Sager but I'm missing some information.

1. On the 3790, 4750 and 9860 what make of harddrive is used (60 gig 7200rpm)?
2. I can't find the dimensions or ~weight for the 3790 and 4750. Anyone?
3. Man I really wish either Alienware or Sager made a 17in laptop with a centrino type mobile processor like Apple does. Is there a way to switch the processor of a 17in system? Or somehow make the 3.2ghz monster behave like a 2.0ghz centrino (and eat up much less battery life?)

Thanks all!

1. The Hitachi 7k60 is the only 60GB 7200rpm hard drive avaliable for all of those laptops.
2. 3790: Width=14.125 Depth=10.5” Height=1.5” Weight=6.6lbs (with battery)
3. Swith the processor? No. Downclock the processors? Yes, but stupid because performance will go wayyy down. Sony has the A series which a 17" screen with resolutions up to WUXGA. Might want to check it out.

I'm okay with some loss of performance to add some battery life while in transit. most likely I won't be gaming or working with Maya on the train... only doing some reading, writing reports/HW maybe some photoshop or painter work here and there (i don't think those programs are cpu intensive. Just need Lotsa Ram... i think) .

I will def check out the Sony tho. Thank you.

Just checked out the Sony. Talk about way Effin Overpriced!!!! They what an additional $650 to upgrade from a Pentium m 1.30Ghz to a 2.0Ghz cpu. On ZIPZOOMFLY.com you can get the 2.0 Pentium M for $450. Thats $200 LESS than an upgrade from a 1.3ghz cpu! WTF? Every single "upgrade" or "option" is outrageously overpriced. $350 for an external 60gig HD!?!?!?!? For less than $200 you can get a Hitachi or WD 200gig HD and a NexStar enclosure!... Anyway... sorry about this vent

Seriously tho thanks for the suggestion (it might seem like sarcasm but I'm being genuine ^.^) but i don't think that the Sony A series is worth it.

Well... you are interested in a 17" Centrino? Check out the Dell Inspiron 9200.
