Does anyone know whitch is the better of these...
anyone have a zd8000 that can run some benchmarks ,plz
i want as good preformance as possible...
my friend is going to buy a zd8000 (p4 ht 3.2 1mb cache) (1gb ddr2) (x600 256)
but i want a ferrari (i think), its smaller and lighter then the zd8000 but, how much will i loose in preformance (compared to a zd8000) if i buy a ferrari 3200??

they both kinda are..hmmm..NOT GOOD (esp. the ferrari, the whole ferrari is plain retarded and it won't be taken seriously), go with sager or alienware...

What the..? Alienware? Seriously?
Other than that.. Top post in quality and thoroughness.

There's no Sager or Alienware in Sweden that I know. And you sound like you have an emotional issue about the Ferrari It's just your regular run-of-the-mill laptop with a funny color, not "plain retarded".

As to those two laptops, they're not comparable. They're for different uses. Ferrari is decently sized and thin, while zd8000 is twice as heavy. zd8000 will probably perform somewhat better (x600 seems to be somewhat, but not a whole lot, faster than 9700), though both will have a bottleneck graphics card. Ferrari has 2,5h of battery life, while zd8000 probably has less than half of that. If that doesn't matter, and you don't need to travel a lot (or don't mind carrying it along), zd8000 is probably your thing. However there are even faster alternatives than zd8000, such as Dell with Mobile 9800 and others I can't remember.

ok thanks sanna
I think that for my needs (need to carry it along most of the time), the ferrari will have to do...
but i would like a bit better preformance... But as usual who doesn't :P
is there any way to change the cpu in the ferrari?
Yes, but you'll void the warranty doing so. Btw, the Mobility Radeon 9700 in the Acer Ferrari 3200 is faster than the Mobility Radeon X600 in the HPZD8000, just have a look at this:

is it really?
well that settles it
but tell me more about the cpu change... atleast i can do it when the warranty goes out anyway...
and oh yeah, that brings up another question... how long is it? 1 year?

edit: btw, do i void warranty by changing the HDD?

(ps, are there any benchmarks on the R9700 vs RX600?)

That is the test I was looking at too. It actually shows x600 as being the winner. x600 gets 300 more marks in 3DMark 03, which is extremely gpu dependent. Read the conclusion, I rather agree with it. Regardless it's a very limited test, and I think the two are rather close in performance.

Yes, the Mobility Radeon 9700 in the Acer Ferrari 3200 is slightly faster than the Mobility Radeon X600 (compared to the benchmarks I linked to above). You see, the Mobility Radeon 9700 found in most Centrino notebooks are clocked lower and thus perform less good.

I suggest you read the Acer Ferrari 3200 Service Guide for how to properly dismantle the notebook and get to the CPU:

No.

You can't base that conclusion on that test, at least. Although it's too short to definitely conclude anything.

yeah, well. i can beleve that im gonna get better preformance with a ferrari then the system in that benchmark...

btw, i called acer sweden again regarding the l2 cach of the amd mobile athlon 64 2800+, and this time they said that it was 512kb... so im a bit dissapointed... but im gonna buy a ferrari anyway...

It is 512. The Acer website has it written down wrong. But you should rest happy knowing it's just the AMD64 achitecture that doesn't need more than that to be efficient.
