Still not here... not fedex's fault. ecost.com just sucks... Hopefully it will get here before I fly out sunday night. And hopefully someone in the apartment complex in Australia where I'm staying will have an unsecured wireless-g network.

Details will come when they are available.

I owned one for about 13 days and let me tell you I was not impressed with it. Three of the most annoying things were, the left palm rest gets blistering hot. The voltage circuits in the laptop make a high pitched whine the is very irritating to my ears. Battery power makes it louder.

LCD screen does not have a very good viewing angle, and mine had a stuck pixle. The other disadvantage I found is that it has an SiS chipset which definatly does not perform like the intel chipsets. Last but not least the battery life, it is horrible. Two batteries are a must.

With all the cons I have said about this model it is really not all that bad, and if there was nothing else better I would still have it.

Some tweaks I recommend:

Apply AS5 to the heatink
Install omega driver right away
Upgrade to a 7200rpm hard drive
Ditch the PC2700 ram and upgrade to 1gb PC3200 ram or more

ok, where exactly do i put the AS5 and how do i get the hard drive out? i managed to get the bottom panel out, but it looks like the hard drive is secured somehow. also, where did you see that this laptop supports pc3200 ram?
