Hey, my laptop runs at about 48 degrees, the fans are always running and it is pretty annoying. It does this even when system is idle, albiet AIM is running in the background. The room the computer is in is rather cool... is this a normal temperature? please post replys with your average temperature.

Also if I were to get a laptop cooler does anyone have any suggestions on the best?....

Well i just tried something I closed atiTools and i am now around 46 degrees... maybe it was running the gpu making the entire laptop warmer... I am not sure... any ideas would be awsome.

I had the same problem and found a solution last week.

Have you cleaned your fans and exhaust with compressed air. Flip you laptop over and take the covers off the fans. The larger cover toward the back of the system will reveal your heat sink. I had build up around my heat sink which was obstructing proper ventilations of my system. While cleaning your system continue to clean the other fans, and under the key pad.

This solved my heat issue, now my temps range from 40C to 50C in normal operations. At 50C the fan kicks on and when the system hits 40C the fan shuts off. If the fans are on max, I system stays at a constant 38-39C.

This solved many problems for me, not only did it solve the heat issue, it also solved some artifacting and lag during game play.

Also, if your running mobilmeter and experiencing lag during normal operations, mobilmeter is the problem. Shut down mobilmeter and see if it helps. It was causing problems with me, I only fun it when I think there's a problem.

Hope this helps.
