Would be helpful if you mentioned what warranty you have and if you're under the initial 21 days. And the reason you gave them. And who (manager, tech rep) you spoke to...Just a thought.

You're going from a 3.4EE to a Pentium-M, and you consider that an upgrade?

Prentium M is faster or just as good as the 3.4, anyhow i spoke to some dude on malasia or something. i was having multiple problems with my system anything from blue screens to other unresolvable problems. couple of days ago they stopped sending out 9100 and now they will send a upgrade system or how they said "the same type of system or better" they say that the 9200 is the upgrade system of it

please spare us, seriously. This class has been going on forever, trust me, there is nothing new to educate those that care bacause we have gone over it all already.. multiple times. The one link already offered to the debate gods in this thread is an example of nothing new that we need to be educated about (I personally posted evidence showing much the same results in an argument not at all different than the one this is going to turn into). But you guys have to do what you have to do, just try and save the personal attacks against eachother until your all out of rational arguments.

I see you have a Radeon 9800 as well. So the 9200 will cut your gaming performance by a measurable amount when it only comes with the 9700.

If my 9100 ever dies in such a way that they offer a replacement system, I will demand an XPS with a lower resolution screen. I will not pair a Radeon 9800 and a 1900x1200 screen, since the GPU can simply not deliver good gaming experiences at the native LCD Resolution. They have lower resolution screens in their parts area for the 9100, so they could just bolt one of those on.

Not going to get fully into the CPU discussion, but one of the reasons the Pentium M is better in ways then a P4 is due to the massive cache. The old PM chips had 1 meg, newer ones have 2 megs. The P4EE also has a 2 meg cache, negating that part of the advantage. So likely the processor will indeed be a downgrade.

You really may want to reconsider and demand an XPS instead, or get them to get a 9100 from overseas.

You guys are lucky; I had to fight dell countless times to get my replacement for my I9100!!! Luckily enough, I actually walked away with a better deal on my I9200 then on my I9100

As for the "upgrade" to the I9200, the P4 3.4EE is way better then the 2.0 P-M. The 9800 will also majorly out perform the 9700! I just love my I9200 because its lighter and has a way better battery life. Get the WXGA+ screen though, the WUXGA has problems... But congrats on your victory with dell, I had major problems with them and after this order, I won't be ordering with them again!
