Video Editing Software - Page 2

Well, after getting my 8890 I went shopping for video software. I wanted to get Avid Xpress, but I was told by Avid they didn't have a demo. If I bought it and it didn't work, I would not be able to get my money back. Having been a video editor for 13 years with different systems, I know only too well that problems occur frequently with software. So Avid was off my list. Then I called Adobe, and they told me if I didn't like Premier Pro I could return it after 30 days. WIth that and the price of the Video Collection which includes After Effects, Audition, Encore and Premier Pro for $799, I bought it. So far it seems to work very well. I have yet to attempt to print to tape, but capturing and editing has been flawless. Audition is very nice. I have not looked at Encore yet. After Effects I already own and will probably sell this copy. The 8890 seems to handle Premier Pro easily. After I go through more of its features I will report back.

Partition and Ulead

Hi Mark,
Hey did you partition your drive(s) at all after getting the 8890?
I'm expecting mine in 2 weeks with xp pro installed with dual 7500s raid 0 and was thinking I probably should partition for editing. However, I saw that Partition Magic was 95 bucks Canadian (plus 15 % tax) and that made me mad and want to forget partitioning.

Also, I forgot to mention above that you can download a free 30 day trial of Media Studio Pro 7.

I bought an external 7200 rpm USB/Firewire hard drive and use that just for the video. It seems to be working without a hitch.
