I just picked up a 100GB 5400.2 Seagate Momentus to replace my 40GB 4200rpm disc and I _really_ don't want to reinstall XP+aplications + linux.
I currently have partitions as per:

(With the difference being 1,3 an 6 are smaller commensurate with my disc being 40GB rather than 60GB as in the diagram.)
Obviously I want to grow partitions 1,3,6 to take advantage of the larger space rather than create any more partitions.
I've an external USB enclosure which I can put the new disc in to aid in the duplication process, the caveat being it's been known to corrupt discs. Accordingly I don't fancy putting my present disc in the new enclosure until I know I've all my data is accessible on the new disc. I.e. I want to leave the 40Gb in the laptop, connect the 100GB in the enclosure, somehow copy 40GB-->100GB, finally putting the 100GB in the laptop and checking it works.
Any advice much appreciated,
Tom
P.S. somone mentioned PartImage, but I can't see how I could use it + it doesn't seem to be 'stable' with NTFS - A Bad Thing from my pov.
