Make sure you tightened the screw which locks down the processor all the way.

I did that..still not booting up

1) Make sure the processor is seated properly. No bent pins, seated all the way down, screwed down.

2) The first stick of memory should be installed in the memory slot underneath the keyboard. The memory slot on the bottom of the system is secondary slot.

3) Make sure your hard drive is seated properly. No bent pins, etc.

I know all that.. also double checked.. still no boot..

I called the notebook barebone supplier/shop today and he asked me to leave the notebook with him for this weekend.. no idea what is he going to try..

I have built many desktops, highly Overclocked , watercooled them..my current desktop is Vapochilled, Boots up @ -40C ..This is my first Notebook built, so thought maybe i missed something..

anywayz, I will know whats the problem on monday.. thanks for the help guys.

Does the machine stay on? Any beeps?

Personally, I've seen this on a desktop when the CPU wasn't properly seated, and on a notebook when the RAM was the incorrect voltage.

Make sure you pushed in the power adapter all the way if the batt isn't charged, and second i blame the cpu, third i blame the ram, lol.

nope, no beeps or anything..when i push the power button, i see two blue leds blink(caps lock and another one) Fan runs for like 2-3 sec....thats it. Nothing on the screen.

I tried charging the notebook battery for 1 hr, still no boot up.

Laptops should have a small speaker with all kinda beep codes so that one can know whats going on

I think you still haven't tightened that cpu screw enough.

classic symptom of that situation.

Yes, I agree with poster above.

If there are lights and fans, that means that power is getting through.

The symptoms you describe indicate that something is missing / malfunctioning that is so critical to the system, that not even the BIOS will boot.

I still think it is probably
1) CPU related
2) Memory related
3) Hard drive related (Some notebooks will not boot without a detected hard drive)

I see what you guys are saying, but i don't have the notebook with me anymore.. We will know the root problem on monday morning.

thanks

I had the same problem, then I pushed my ram in further (didn't put it in far enough) and it worked... So it was ram for me...

Its no good. I think you should sell it to me

I've had this issue on some builds, usually means something isn't seated properly, even if it seems like it is - usually the hard drive.

I agree, it must be a seating issue, be it cpu, ram or hdd. If you are getting power the mobo (for the most part) is working.

Do you hear/feel the hdd spin up when you power the laptop on?
