I got a reply from Sager regarding my temperature problem with 8790 and they claimed there is no such thing as a "2nd generation" model of the 8790. The service technician also stated that all 8790 use the same motherboard.
I'd be interesting to see if this is true. I can hardly believe that the same motherboard is used for all 8790 models, especially because so many here claimed that a motherboard replacement or a "2nd generation unit" fixed their problems.
I would be great if you can post any information how to identify a new motherboard or any other details which helps proofing the existence of the 2nd generation units.
