Browser Hotkey

Is there a way so that if my browser is the active window and I press the hotkey for browser on the 8887 that it WON'T launch in that same window, changing the page from whatever I had?

I'm using IE 6 and I turned off "Reuse shortcuts" in advanced tools.

dont quote me on this but maybe you can hold shift while you press the hotkey im not sure if it will work but what could it hurt to try thats how it works in a normal browser with shortcuts so maybe just maybe...muwahahahahaha
