a75-s229 + xp pro incompatibility?

Hi, first time on the forums. Thanks in advance.
I'm a tech at a major retailer and we've had problems installing the xp pro upgrade specifically on the s229. When transferring the files over, it will always give a file missing error while transferring from the i386 dir. We've been through 4 computers and a couple copies of xp pro trying to get to the bottom of this, and nothing seems to work. Anybody heard of this or anything like it before?

How do you transfer the files? Via network or CD-ROM? Or does this error message occur while Win XP Pro is installing?

Shut off the wireless networking with the side switch and then perform the upgrade - I've notice that it would take forever on my A33 to upgrade to XP Pro if I don't shut off the wireless networking.
