This is the name of the X-Brite patent in Europe. Don't know why Sony doesn't use the same name in Europe and Americas.

Fujitsu has the best use of this technology in their Cyrstal view screens, If im not mistaken, they started using it before anyone else on their laptops, and it is the most beautful thing i've ever seen, I cannot go back to standard LCD.
