Notebookforums should make a chat room for all, or a aol chat room, ect

i was wondering maybe i may not know about this but wouldnt it be a great idea from the people that bring you notebookfourms.com to have a main chat room or chat rooms for different companys, the reason i say this is because i know alot of members have question that need fast answers, and its a better way for all of us to interact... it maybe harder then what i make it to be... i was just thinking about it while in the forum... anyways any comments to my idea would be great ... thanks for your time

eh...I don't think it would work to well in actual practice. Most questions are answered pretty quickly already, actually most have already been answered (hence the importance of the search feature). I think any chat room would disintegrate pretty quickly into posts of "Dude my alienware rocks!" or "What notebook should I buy?" every 2 minutes whenever some noob/troll/spammer/whatever logs on...

This has been discussed before... the Search button is your friend.

Basically this forum is already active enough that it is essentially a chat room. And as plageclochard said, it could get out of hand very quickly unless you had to log on to access it.

Actually it works really well in practice, you have alloted time slots when the moderators can keep an eye on the chat room, and kick problematic users. Works like that on the Nintendo forums. I am not sure how to implement it into a site though, and that could be tough.
