Thread Starter
Did anyone get the latest omega driver to work after they had an error where windows would not start up?

if so, could u please state how you got around the problem other than uninstalling them and going back to the poopy ati drivers like ive had to do numerous times even with driver cleaner...

ATI 4.12 and BFV

Any 'of you running BFV with the ATI 4.12 installed? I keep getting the black flashing screen on loadup and can't play. Could really use some hep on this.

flashing screen - got me with Omega drivers

Not sure why its happening. I uninstalled VGA drivers, used the ATI uninstall also. rebooted. Installed the omega drivers package which has redlinks and multires programs added omega v2597a on ati 4.12. Go figure, I was doing great with the Sager supplied drivers but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about across the sager forums with resolution cropping and flickering or black screens.

Well I got a big ol dose of it now. I'll tell you that what I did was tweaktown.com recommended file adjustments to get to where the BF1942 screen was at least visible. Also, I took off and then put the check back on the image proportion to screen deal on the panel properties tab in advanced tabs for display properties. Still, the computer won't stop flickering on startup of the game. And, with windows display at max 1680 x 1050 (approx) the game wants to start in the upper left corner with 1280x768 res. Weird! However, since I can see the menus now, I went ahead and started a single player game and then it was alright. The game played normal, (same as with Sager supplied video driver), and the entire lcd panel was used. So its definitly the video playback issue here. Also, I had to go to the adapter tab to uncheck "hide resolutions this monitor can't display" That's how I was able to go past 1400 res. Also weird! go figure!

Why would the omega drivers respond that way? So now my experience with DNA and OMEGA leave me with questions. I am thinking of uninstalling again, and going back to the Sager supplied drivers.

Since I can't edit (wonder why...really?) let me say this: I could not get around the video errors with Omega drivers. Cropping, limited resolution, flickering in BF1942 DC Final wasn't going away. So I just clicked install on the exe file for the Sager 8.04 drivers and I was back in business. Granted, I don't know what performance gains I lost going back to the "Vendor" drivers... but at the rate I was going, I wasn't going to find out soon with Omega drivers installed. Just wanted to say I'm glad this Sager 3790 could run normal again. Hopefully the new ATI drivers coming out this year will include Mobility support...
