I have a Gateway m305crv Celeron 2.2 ghz, 256 pc2100, 40 gig , CDRW/DVD,that had a power surge & is totally dead now. No lights or anything & I already replaced the power supply. Any ideas?????? A new motherboard or is there anything else I can check first? Hate to just throw it in the trash as it has some good parts on it. Thanks in advance.

So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review. As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...

the notebook is pretty outdated so IMO you should just sell the parts seperately (could be tricky though since you don't know what works and what doesn't work) Then buy a newish notebook.
Try taking the battery out and just using the A/C power, look in your manual for a reset button (sometimes under the keyboard), you could open the notebook and look for blatant problems like burst capacitors, burn marks etc.
