Question about Dell Shipping

I'm looking at possibly being able to order my i9200 tomorrow...but at this time the estimated shipping date is December 29th. I need to know two things...

For those who've bought laptops recently...what has the shipping being like...did they ship it early? on time? late?

The second I'm sure many people would not know...but I'll try anyway. Does anyone know if you can change the delivery destination once the order has been placed (before it ships)? I ask because I'm going on a trip over the Christmas/New Years week and I'd like to get it delivered to my Grandma's house if it would arrive during my trip..if not then I'd like to get it shipped to work. I get back on the 31st so that's where my previous question comes into play. I'm hoping that most people have had their laptops shipped early...so that it would actually arrive before the estimated ship date.

Well, I ordered mine on the 13th. It was supposed to ship on the 20th and be here in Buffalo, NY on the 22nd with 2 day air shipping. In actuality, it shipped out on Friday the 17th via UPS GROUND service and has been sitting in Ohio all weekend, probably in some sub-zero trailer park. If you saw the Cleveland-Buffalo game yesterday you'd know how cold it is there. It'll get here a day earlier, but i'd hate to think it was sitting out in the cold!

They're good about getting it to you on time. My first order was early but my second came on the day iti was supposed to.

Strange thing I noticed, they told me that they would give me free next day shipping, but when I recieved my package, it was 2nd day. When I ordred something with 2nd day, it was sent on ground... Its like they're degrading the shipping by one notch

I ordered my 8600 on Saturday the 11th, and it wasn't scheduled to ship and be here (via UPS 2nd day air) until the 20th (today). But, it shipped on Monday the 13th and was here by the 15th. So, it came much earlier than expected.

I ordered a 9200 yesterday. It went through Kitting, build, and testing all in one day and it's been in boxing ever since. The estimated ship date is listed as the 27th but I expect it to arrive much sooner. I've never had one go through this fast.

I ordered a 700m on Saturday the 18th and it shipped on the 20th but the confirmation e-mail does not have a tracking number. I tried calling them but keep getting the automated system which tells me the exact same thing. Anyone know a more direct way to get a CS rep?
