Everquest II problem . . .

hello all,

I have an Area 51m withe the ATI 9700.

once in game i will randomly freeze. at one point the windows troubleshooter pointed to the video card as the problem. so, i started doing some research and came accross this on the EQ2 knowledge base. . .

"The following Geforce cards will not work with EverQuest II MX100/200/400/420/440/460. Also any Geforce Go cards or ATI Mobility cards(only in laptops) will not work with EverQuest II. The game requires a video card that is Vertex and Pixel Shader capable, and these cards do not have those features."

however, i have a friend with almost the exact same notebook and he seems to be playing the game just fine. is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

i have the latest (8.05) drivers installed. . .should i roll back to a previous version? and if so which ones?

I have the Area51-m (766) with the 5700. Using the same drivers from factory 62.20. I have been running EverquestII for over two weeks with absolutely no hickups at all.
