Maybe it has been mentioned here before but here it is anyway.

Looks good to me. 128MB DX9 GPU, LV A64 CPU, WUXGA screen. Only thing it is missing is a 12 cell battery. But maybe there will be options... 12 cell battery instead of a 6 cell would be awesome.

if that wsxga+ is wva then it has got my money

It most likely is. Most current LCDs are WVA.

Coming to an HP near you soon! Damn shame they aren't going to make their ODM systems available in the U.S.

Is it a confirmed fact that HP/Compaq will be selling this model? Where did you get that info from? Release date?

Some of theirs are already sold in the US by Gateway/emachines and Voodoo. I don't know if there are any others, but I know those two sell some Arima-made machines in the states (my signature machine is an Arima w730-k8).

No release dates, Rustican, that was a bit of levity based upon an understanding that Arima has struck a deal with HP here in the states. Unsubstantiated but the source is good.

That's a nice lappy!

Oh Poo! I though it was out already. I think that's the notebook for me. A nice mobile notebook that can pretend to be a DTR once in a while. It really does look nice.

Around 5.5 pounds, LV AMD 64, PCI-X graphics?

Looks like the next reseller who comes out with this will get my money.

I have a question for any of those who are familiar with the upcoming codenames for ATI cards.

ATI M22P/M24P/M26P

What are the mainstream names for those above? X300, x600, x800 mobile?

Look like there is a lot more nice lappy outside of US!

I think it is x300/x600/x700 not sure. x600 or higher would be good enough for my purposes. Just as long as it has 128MB. x700 is damn nice for a notebook like this.

god damn, I would buy that NOW if i could. If anyone of you hear about this being available in the US. PLZ PM ME ASAP!!!!!

useless post--

****drool****
ewww, can I get an umbrella to shield me from the drool above?!?

...I'm having a very hard time not doing a stupid gollum impersonation (me wants it precious, etc). I'm with JFvergara, whoever comes out with this gets my money right away. If anyone comes across info relating to a reseller or release date, please post...

If the Arima W622-DK8X/UK8X actually uses low-power Mobile Athlon 64 processors it's really sweet I think, but since they use the desktop Athlon 64 logo instead of the Mobile Athlon 64 logo made me worry a bit though. Where does it say exactly that its using low-power processors?
6-cell battery, 3hour battery life .... It doesn't actually say on that link that it is low power mobile, but with the advertised battery life, only a A64 3000+ max processor, it can't be the mobile, DTR or desktop. With a mobile 3200 I only get 2.5 hours (Arima only advertises 2 hours) out of an 8 cell. http://www.arima.com.tw/ViewProduct.asp?View=71

Certainly that must be the low-voltage. Speculation indeed, but I would love to see how they are squeezing more life out of a smaller battery without using the LV. I also don't understan why they would use no higher than a 3000+ if it was anything but LV. I guess we will have to wait until they hit the shelves to know for sure.

Ok, that makes perfect sense. What I really like with it is its low weight (2.58kg or 5.67lbs) and rather good specs (audio, video, lcd, etc)
