M30 audio/video controls on the front side - how to activate them?

Hello.
Title of the topic says all - I don't know how to activate controls at the front side of the laptop which allow playing CDs without booting up the computer. I tried what was written in the Manual but without succes (setting up player in the Toshiba Buttons section in the Toshiba Console).
I have two questions:

1. How to make those controls work so I could use laptop for listening audio CDs without starting OS?

2. Is it possible to watch DVD movies in the same way, with help of those controls? Without booting up machine.

Thanks.

you can activate them by pressing the first button from the left for more than 3 seconds. then the left, blue led gehts on. that the audio-cd mode.
to switch to digital-audio mode (i.e. media player control) you habe to push this again. the right led starts.
i know it sucks that you have to press this button each time you start the notebook but thats the only way.

unfortunately the m3 isnt capable of playing dvds without os. that requires a special chipset.

rock on

Took over two years for this guys question to be answered. Better late than never I guess.

I was actually wondering how to do this a few weeks ago. Now I know, thanks.
