This about sums in up (I agree with you)
Open letter to ATI from gamers-depothere
My own gripes:
-the x600 was announced months ago, yet has not seen the light of day. I have only seen it in an Acer 1800 in a weak-ass 64mb variant and in the vapourware of Eurocom.
-the MR 9800 was released but ATI gave exclusivity to Dell for the month of August. Instead of making it availabe to the masses they narrowed it to one particular OEM that they are in bed with. Subsequently, no one else has adopted it as of yet. It is advertised on the ATI site like it is ubiquitious.
-then after these fiascos the x300 and x800 were announced. I haven't really seen the x600 and yet here comes the x800 and x300? Amusingly, ATI had the Eurocom Phantom listed as a notebook with the x600 for a while and even linked it to Erocom which displayed the GO 6800 as its
mobile gpu. ATI personified?
I used to own a x800 XT PE, but sold in in order to go with mVidia. Across my 3 systems I have all nVidia now.
Confidence in ATI is not there; they are brazen, imitating, unreliable as a company, and lost in some type of techie dementia like Intel.
Looks like they are selling vapourware to me. I suppose ATI fans will be clamoring to have a word with me.
