actually, after i got the battery replaced thru apple, i've been getting 4.25+ on the iBook w/ about 3/4 brightness on the LCD. the 14" iBook has a larger battery, yes. i can get ~5 hours w/ the display turned down and ~5.5 if i'm not using wireless, but since the latter is a rare occurence i don't think it's worth mentioning and the display brightness really depends on your setting. at home on the couch i don't mind it being dimmer. out and about w/ more ambient light u need to have it up at least 1/2 way, which should give u 4.5 hours w/ moderate use.
