O.K., so i just got finished installing the above Broadcom driver on my daughter's 700m and it is working fine. With this newer driver, the green WiFi status light built into the case of the notebook now is just constantly on instead of flickering previously based on packet activity. I had the 126.96.36.199 driver on previously that I had gotten from the Windows Update Corporate site and I thought it was pretty cool having the light flicker dependent on the amount of packets being passed back and forth. Having this indicator just on all the time really serves no purpose whatsoever.
If someone with a 700m equipped with either the Truemobile 1300/1350 would care to take a look at the .inf and see if it can be edited to make the WiFi indicator once again show network activity, that would be awesome. I have uploaded the driver I was using previously to http://images.lunarpages.com/9259984.cab
Like I said, the previous driver actually showed network activity while the latest driver does not. Thanks in advance.
Edit: As a quick-fix, I just extracted bcmwl5.sys v188.8.131.52 and pasted it over the v184.108.40.206 driver. I then reinstalled the new driver using the older .inf via the device manager. Happy to report that the WiFi light once again flickers dependent on net activity!
