Boot from Floppy

Thread Starter
For some reason I can not get my floppy drive to boot (I am about to flash bios). When I go into the BIOS setup to insure that the floppy is set up to boot first, I get a "!" next to the "Legacy Floppy Drive" and the floppy will not boot.

What do I have to do to get this enabled so I can flash the BIOS?

follow the BIOS boot disk order link.
It appears the system has disabled the floppy. You can re-enable it in the BIOS.

Hope that helps.

Any idea where in the BIOS I can re-enable it? I have spent hours in the BIOS looking for the setting..... I must be missing the obvious.

sorry for taking so long to reply. Don't often go down to the BIOS
You will see a list for boot order (second last tabbed menu in the BIOS).
In the list is "Removable Media".
use the arrow keys to select it - then hit enter.
This should expand the item and show you "legacy floppy drive"
If there is an exclaimation mark (!) next to it the floppy is disabled.
Use shift 1 to change enable it (the ! should disappear).
You will also need to make sure that the "Removable Media" line is the first entry in the list of bootable devices.
