the 9300 wuxga is supposed to be the glossy type screen therefore will not have the grainy defects of the 9200 wuxga.

So, does that mean the same will apply for the new XPS 2 ??????

Can you imagine the madness if those start showing up with "sparkle" screens?????? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll have a revolution on our hands!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think any end-users have received the 9300/XPS2 yet, but the reviewers have. They both have a glossy WUXGA. The 9300's WXGA+ is apparently the same as the 9200's. Pictures are in the Photo Gallery.

I have all ways liked the rest of the computer with the LCD being my only dislike. The last LCD is clear, crisp and bright white with “NO” sparkles, you can actually see the individual pixels. When you see a bad screen next to an i9100 WUXGA or a good 9200 with a WUXGA you can see just how bad a bad i9200 LCD is. I’m 100% happy with my Dell Now. LeeU
Hey, I know his is an old post but I just got my E1705/9400 with a WUXGA
screen and it's the worst screen of any laptop I have ever owned. I don't want to keep sending this thing back and forth to Dell until they get the screen right. Can you tell me which screen (Part Number and Order Number)
that you finally liked and ended up with?
I would deeply appreciate it.

It won't matter because the I9200 screen is a different screen that what is sold today. If your sceen is that bad you simply got a bad screen, call Dell and get it exchanged.

i9200 screen

It's been a while, but if I recall correctly I specifically asked for, and got, the WXGA+ screen (not the WUXGA!). So far (and I think by now we've had it for more than a year!) the laptop is great, no complaints whatsoever about the screen or about anything else.
