every 5-10 minutes or so windows keeps crashing. I just installed my 1 GB corsair DDR. Anyone know why this might be happening or have had the same problems? I am currently running a memory test which I will check in the morning.

Ensure the memory is seated correctly.
Did you touch the contacts on the memory, if you did remove them and run an eraser along the edges and then refit them and try again this will remove any grease/contamination from the contacts.

AW tech says that the sentia isnt compatible with 1x1024 and I need to by 2x256 sounds like some BS considering the 2 guys I talked to all last night didn't tell me that.

thats complete bs go to their sentia configuration page, and look at the memory options, 1X1024 will be be starring you in the face.

I put the 256MB back in and now its working fine. I have no clue why it is doing this.

What is windows doing before it crashes? Specifically: was it running a CPU intensive app?

I had tons of problems with my Sentia upon delivery, Alienware tech support was worthless and just issued an RMA saying the motherboard must have been bad. Eventually I got all my blue screens cured but that was after doing my own XP install and getting drivers from parts makers and not alienware. If you are still running the delivered XP config visit intel.com and get updated video and chipset drivers, that fixed 90% of my problems.

mem test came back fine. I am just going to return in, take the 15% loss (restocking fee) and upgrade thru alienware...damn I should have just paid the extra money for the ram in the first place.
