Using multiple hard drives with different RPMs in 8790. Problems?

would i have a problem if i say put a 80 gig 5200 RPM harddrive from my old laptop in with the 60 gig 7200 rpm harddrive on the 8790? Im not talking raid here, just having two seperate harddrives. Will the 60 gig slow down to match the 80 gig at 5200, or will it even work at all?

You should not have any problems what so ever. Each drive will run up to it's capabilities. If you are using both drives at once (copy c: to d you may see a slowdown because they are on the same controller; however, that is not the drive's fault.

Should not be no problem. The individual drives will work at their own RPM. I'm not sure if you will need to use the jumper selections or not.

This is exactly the setup I had on my old 8790, works fine and yes both drives still perform to their individual capacity (I used the 80GB 5400rpm drive as my system drive and the 60GB 7200rpm as a dedicated video capture/editing drive).
