Do the fans in the lapcool2 blow up or down? The reason I mention it is the air intakes are on the bottom of the machine and if the cooler is blowing down, the cooler could be 'stealing' the cold air that needs to be going into the machine. You might get better results by flipping the fans around, which shouldn't be too hard to do.

It blows upward (which was the main reason I bought it in the first place). But still, the space between the cooler and the bottom of the laptop is about 1cm, or less than half an inch. The lapcool itself is very low. I can barely see any space between it and my desk. I tried using the lapcool leg to prop it up, but the temp didn't change.

I think what makes the difference is that my tealight candle holder allows cooler air to get beneath my laptop.

Yeah, I've got the Antec, but it doesn't really do much. I prop mine up with two MiniDV tape cases on either side. Gives a great typing angle and elevates the screen, which is nice when using dual monitors. Sometimes the best things in life are free...

With Lapcool, it's more like 44-48. So I am going back to my tealight holder. Best damn cooler out there
Where were you lol when I was contemplating on buying the Lapcool2 or not lol.. Damn 30 bucks waste :P

I am planning on using the Lapcool in my bedroom come summer since I dont have AC. If it doesnt work for my laptop, might as well put the thing to good use.

Hmm I think the Lapcool2 would do good in my home country of Pakistan where the bloody room temperatures reach 40c. Otherwise ill use it for the same purpose to in my bedroom. Will provide for some relief air lol.
