OK, I know this has been posted before, but a search of "Wireless network connection is not connected" brings up over 15 pages and nothing on the first few were it.

I just reformatted and can't remember how you make that friggin "Wireless network connection is not connected" pop-up in the bar go away.

Thanks, and sorry to have to ask this.

go to network connections in the control panel and disable wireless networks. that should do the trick..

Open 'Network Connections', make a shortcut of the 'Wireless Network Connection' icon and move the shortcut to the Desktop. Use it to enable/disable wireless. I usually right-click on it and select enable or disable. Also, if you have the network icon displayed on the system tray then you can right-click on it and select: disable.

Oops, my fault. I meant how do you disable the stupid little balloon messages (I still want wireless networking, but I just don't want to constantly be reminded that I turned off my wireless when I'm using a 10/100 wired connection).

I had this setup before I reformatted...I could enable/disable wireless networking whenever I wanted to but never saw any ballon messages at the bottom right telling me that it couldn't connect.

I know theres a way to do this, but I don't remember how.

I think there is an option in tweakui to do what you want.

hope that helps.

Yes, run the Group Policy Editor in Windows XP (in the Management Console) and go to Administrative Templates/Network/Offline Files. Enable "Turn off reminder balloons".

I thought that would work, but somehow I'm still getting these damned messages. I'm gonna look into it further this weekend. Let me know if you find the tweak. I also went to Network instead of Offline files and enabled "turn off notifications".
