9200 WUXGA- get again or wait

I got the wuxga a few weeks ago (W5412), it was sparkly, I hated it, I ranted at anyone who tried to "accomodate" to it and live with it. I sent it back, got a refund, and bought a wxga+ (W5411), mine had a very little sparkle to it, but other wise looked great. I was however missing the working space of the wuxga. I sent the wxga+ back and got a refund. I was going to wait and see if they fix the sparkle issue. I need another computer within a month. I am thinking about going ahead and getting the wuxga once again, as I don't see that there will be a fix to this within a month? Thinking back on it, maybe more rationally this time, the screen did not seem all that bad, my wxga+ had the same effect but on a smaller scale, but I just love the huge space on the wuxga. So anyway, I am thinking of buying again on the next 25% coupon deal, This was the perfect notebook for me besides the screen, but now I think I might could live with it and actually be happy due to the increased screen area to work with over the clearer wxga+ but less working space. Any thoughts?

So wuxga owners, have you really gotten used to it or still hate it? I know opinions, including mine, were rampant when we all first got our screens, but I would like some follow up thoughts after having it for awhile. Will this ever be fixed or is just somehow the future of this coating on high res.? Has Dell gave anyone an answer or even acknowledged the prob.?

Go for the UXGA. I was at BestBuy last night and just took a glance at some other screens and none have the crispness as this one. Try to get beyond the sparkle (which to me wasn't really a problem) and you'll soon realize how great this screen really is. Hope this helps.

What if you added a Nushield protector to the screen? Would that take the "sparkle" away?

Dude, I love my WUXGA. I noticed the sparkle, but didn't let the mass hysteria from the group think on these boards sway me. The coating does it's job well. No reflections!

One thing to consider, since the sparkle effect is most noticable on white backgrounds, is to try running 'WindowBlinds' software and try a color scheme with a dark background with reversed text. I run that way anyway and you don't see the sparkle at all.

Sparkle is an afterthought now. It depends on your allowance levels. If you really don't like it at first, you'll never get used to it because it'll always be on your mind, making you actively look for it.

If it didn't bother you much to begin with, then eventually you'll forget about it.

If you hated it the first time, I'm not sure you'll be able to cope with it long term. You could try for a week or two and see what happens.

I agree. The sparkle is acceptable as long as you never compare it side-by-side with another laptop, and you don't mind people gasping and covering their eyes when they walk by

Yeah, I don't think that I minded it at first too bad until I started reading all of the other opinions, and then that got me examining it more closely.

Well, to anyone who has been following, I did order again just now. I was going to wait until they had another 25% off to order, because I am not going to pay more than I did the first time for the same computer. But after contacting 1 dell chat rep, and 2 phone reps, I finally got a phone sales rep. that after going to the supervisor twice, was able to match my original config. and price of my orig. order that I used the 25% off on. So it all equals out and I'm happy.
