9200 Wuxga

This picture should show two things about the 9200 WUXGA (LG Philips): the amazing clarity of text (check the icons), and the weird artifacts produced by the LCD light being diffracted by the anti-glare coating.

Do you see on right side, in the bottom corner, at the edge near the clock there, how that tiny area is just a lil darker than the rest of the screen? Look really hard. I see it in the pic there and I also see it on my 9200's WXGA. It is very hard to see and it really doesnt bother me, but i'd like to know what causes that.

I wouldn't worry about that. Backlighting is never 100% consistent across the panel, and the corners are usually the worst.

I figured that's what it was, thanks!!

It's funny - viewing the picture of your desktop on my 9200 makes the sparkle effect TWICE as bad

I have the same problem with the slightly dark corners. My 9200 is otherwise perfect.

it looks like the screen makes things look like there made from a bunch of small pixels

Yeah, that's annoying. Is there any way to get the screen without the pixels?

That is horrible...and I am not just talking about the sparkle effect. The corners are way too dark. Its as if the laptop is running on battery power. Does the XGA+ screen have dark corners and dark top area of screen?? If so how can you guys put up with that?

I don't see any "sparkly" effect in the picture. It looks fine to me. It looks like the corners might be a little darker, though I can't tell if that's the photo or the screen. The Sager 8790 had some uneven lighting at lower brightness. My Sony does not though. I'd like to stick my Sony screen on a 9200. Maybe with super glue and some paper clips I can get it done.

Its not hard to put up with. It's really not as visible as the picture makes it seem. I have the XGA and my corners are darkened. Alot of 9200's do have it. It's just something you dont notice after a while.

My corners are that dark, and the right side in general is darker than the rest of the screen.
