RMA PROBLEMS-anyone else? - Page 3

I got my first RMA back in 4 business days before Thanksgiving, out on Thuresday, back on Tuesday.

However the second RMA, after TG, took 9 business days, and they didn't fix the problem caused by the first RMA repair.

I complained to Corporate Customer Support and received a refurbished laptop within 36 hours.

Amazing - so many people with the same problem. I have now sent my machine back 4 times - once for cracked hinges, 3 times for flickering screen. This last time they have had it for 2 weeks, but no one knows where it is or what has been done (my bet is nothing). Has anyone every gotten satisfaction from eMachines tech support??

I think the screen flicker has to do with the way the wires are routed up through the screen hinge. I think the wires keep coming loose.

Was your screen fixed and the problem showed up immediately or did the problem show up again sometime later after it was fixed?

I got mine back, and tech support said they changed my Mobo.
they probably changed it to fix the usb problem (which it did), so far I think the scren flicker has stoped. i could swear i've sen it a couple of ties, but that might be just normal surges...or my eyes plaing tricks on me.
Wish me luck...otherwise i'm going to have an anuersym.

I just got my 6811 back from getting the hinges done and from the outside I cannot tell any differnce in durability. However, they must not have carpet work benches because the "brand new" lid has some handling scratches in it. I don't care because it is black and does not really show unless you try to look for them.

But if this is how they treat them, I certainly won't be sending the gateway to them. All you have to do is breath on the gateway lid and it will scratch.

Actually, the first time I sent it back it worked for about a month. Second time it went out immediately, and this time, after they have had it for 2 weeks, no one knows where it is. I've called corporate every day this week, and get the same story every time - they will let me know IF they find out what the status is.

Bad machines happen - bad customer service comes from hard work.

Is this for the flicker problem?

I'm shocked!

I will give E-machine a thumbs up on my RMA.

My HD died last Thursday and I had a cracked right hinge. My 6807 is not in the ridiculous date allowances posted about. Cosmetic or not I asked that it be fixed on this “still in warranty” machine, thank you.

Arima in Houston replaced the HD, fixed the hinge AND updated my BIOS to 0F08.P003308!

I see from the earlier posts that other were not as lucky.

Apple would not budge a few years back with a fault in my Rev1 B&W G3 It's not only E-machines, no?

Mike
