Where's the 40gb 5400??!?!?!! I was planning on saving some money by buying 2 40gb in RAID instead of one 60gb 7200rpm!
Is this really the 8890 or not?

See this pic - KEYBOARD

Now... look over @ SAGER's site ... and see this page:

Sager Link-Keyboard -- and I got this from their "comparison" page

So ... am I seeing something different here or what?

Who ordered an 8890?

I have my order in. Wow, long wait.

RAID-0-- 2 7200 RPM drives.
2 Media drives..DVD/CD writer and another DVD reader/CD writer. (Why not..) PCTorque said ATI Radeon 9000, but I'm sure that was just a last second typo. I'm psyched!

In the config, it lists the video card as the 9000.. thats just an error, I assume?

What does "hardware raid" do and why do I need two equal hard drives set up with the same staorage?
CRAP!!!! The config I want is WAY overbudget! CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP

(can someone with graphics abilities make a crapping banana?)

search for "raid" This has been discussed at lenght on a number of threads.

As for others be patient. It looks like the site's still being edited (fine-tuned) I noticed certain configurations changing as I refreshed the screen

Going with RAID 0 or RAID 1 you have to have the same size drives. If going with RAID 0, you can gain speed (doubles size, doubles cache etc...). But, if you lose a drive - you lose both drives (data that is). If going with RAID 1, you gain "redundancy" because the data is being written to both drives (mirroring). But, they say you do lose some speed with this and it might be a little slower than going with just one drive.

I believe that's the basics .. I'm not an expert on it and the terms I might confuse them -- there's 2 or 3 threads on this board where it's discussed in more detail. HTH.

damn u must be one rich s.o.b....or you've been savin up
but congrats on the order....make sure to provide us with a review and pics!!!!!!!!

Congrads...
Since preorder has arrived, I'm waiting for the paint options and 2GB DDR 400 option.

Thanks.. I'll post pics and my own review-- I'm in California so I'm sure I won't be the first to get the laptop and post a review. (SAGER will ship to Fl, then I'll get it from there.)

I'm not really wealthy, but just really ready for a new laptop. The guy waiting for the paint job and 2GB of RAM? Now that's rich!

Yeah, even up early

Horray!!! It is finally here

Anyway, is the shipping date still the 15th or 16th? Also, any guesses if pctorque will run out of stock on the 8890? I hope not cause I can't order one till this evening. Lots of money for dual 7200's though...more than I can spend...for now at least.

I'd wait for that COLOR pull-down to become active before I order one... that is, if I was gonna buy one.

Everyone asking about RAID, do a search on "Raid Question" as the topic for a post. That'll get you not one, but two different threads on the subject and save me and myrkat from repeating ourselves...

While I'm psyched on the 8890 release, I'll be waiting for 'UXGA' to be available in that pulldown before I'll buy one.
