Installing Win2k3

I am killing myself trying to install Windows 2003. It pauses on the screen where it checks the hard-drives. Windows XP on the other hand, has no problem being installed. I ran the IBM diagnostic utility as well and found no problems. Anybody have similiar problems?

Someone else tries that O/S on the first revision of the machine and determined that the hardware did not support that operating system. He was really P/O'd and I don't know if his conclusions were correct or if he just blew a fuse and returned the unit.

Might check with PC Torque or Sager to see it it is supported.

I finally got it to work. I slipstreamed the Windows 2003 SP1 RC1 into the Windows 2003 installation and when I used that install, it worked without problems.

Re: Win2k3

kryptolus, I'm running Win2k3 on a Hypersonic GX-7. The Ultra 100 Lite(?) drivers on the Win2k3 cd seem to be no good. Early in the install you can load additional storage drivers with F6. The WinXP Ultra drivers work just fine. (Same for the Fasttrack 100 Lite drivers in case you want RAID.) How's SP1?

I see. Maybe the driver got fixed in SP1?
SP1 RC1 seems to be running with no problems. (I had never run Win2k3 without SP1 so I cannot compare the two. )
