Acer Ferarri 3400: Screen quality?

Thread Starter
I recently purchased the 3400, and the more I use it the more I realize the screen quality is sub par. Has anyone else noticed this? It's not terribly bright, and the viewing angles are terrible. Is this a common screen, or does just this laptop have this problem?

The viewing angles are a known issue, but mine is very bright.

Did you eventually get used to the viewing angle issue?

The exact same screen is used on almost all laptops with SXGA+, e.g. Compal CL50/CL56, AOpen 1557, ECS G551/G556 & Acer TravelMate 6000/8000 series to name a few. I'm very happy with it, the resolution is perfect for my work and it's pretty sharp & bright too. Viewing angles dosen't bother me at all, it just takes a second to adjust and really no big deal.

The viewing angles don't bother me, but I keep telling people that if you're picky about stuff like that, don't get one. I have simply noticed it, but I wasn't picky to begin with.

The picture quality is pretty good too if you make sure that you use it at the default resolution, 1400x1050, and 32-bit color depth. When playing fullscreen games, make also sure that you run them with the correct aspect ratio, 4:3, or else the screen may become a bit blurry.
