Ditto. I came this close to buying a loaded AMD desktop through Cyberpower but what I really want is the AMD + x800 in a laptop. I will wait..........

I started a new topic to talk about this. The title on this topic is a little...well...off topic..

the new on is here: http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=56799

Talk it up people! Let sager know what we want!

It's really Clevo, not Sager that needs to hear what we want, I believe. Or does Sager supply Clevo with basic hardware requests?

Why is a better cpu cheaper than a not so good one????
I thoght:

AMD64 = Faster (especially in games) and cooler
P4 = Slower (especially in games) and heat problems

?? I m confused ?? But I would like it!!

And is the x800 more expensive than the 6800??
It is cheaper because AMD trying to take marketshares from Intel. Only way you can do this in the long run is better product, lower price.

And yes, Athlon 64 = Longer battery life in it self, but also since it requires less active cooling, but with a X800 GPU? We will just have to wait and see.

Athlon 64 = Less heat wich means less noice ( Butt I rather have loud fans than an overheating system, so don't be stingy with cooling ).

And finaly, Athlon 64 = Better performance in games ( wich is where it matters, where you acutally can see and feel the diffrence, unless you encode Windows Media files all day long and a fiew seconds diffrence really makes you get a fuzzy and warm feeling inside .

I thought once you hit a minimum speed in processor, only the video processor made a real difference in games. I've seen lot's of higher benchmarks on systems with slower processors (like compare a 3hz to a 2ghz) but with better video cards.

Yes GPU is No.1 but CPU always makes a diffrence too. I read I think on tomshardware that they meassured better and harder AI (computer players) in some game when they had better CPUs. They could set it to higher AI difficulty or something to that extent. Pretty cool I though... I rather have a smart computer and good GFX
