Dell Home has the Toshiba 60GB 5400RPM MK6026GAX Internal ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive

Would like to upgrade my harddrive and see good price on it but wondering what the performance is like(noise + heat as well)>

Can someone tell me if this drive is any good?
Does anyone have any experinece w/ it?

Thanks in advance.

Im pretty sure that's the same hard drive that came in an 8600 I owned. It is quiet but not the quietest of hard drives. It consistently ran at about 44 degrees celcius in that notebook. I have a 9200 now that has a 60GB Fujitsu 5400RPM drive and its silent and seems to be load programs faster than the Toshiba hard drive.

Get a 60GB 7200RPM IBM/Hitachi TravelStar 7K60 & enjoy the fastest laptop hard drive out there.

But I am looking for best combo between speed/noise/heat.

Seagate Momentus 5400.2, in 40GB, 80GB & 100GB flavors seem to have the best combination of speed, heat output & quietness.

60GB 7200RPM IBM/Hitachi TravelStar 7K60 is the best and should be the only HD upgrade you do
