Actually, if you did the same thing here, the same type of treatment (by me and others) might also prevail. You need to review the forum rules as the "flame wars" regarding which is better and cheaper are highly discouraged. State the facts and let each subscriber make up their own mind. I tend to steer clear of A/W because I have had no experience with them, saw their prices, was not real pleased reading about their products on "forums" (not just this one) and a perception (on my part) that I could get a better deal with better support elsewhere. Many like A/W and that's OK.

well, when i configured a sager 9860, over the 7700 i have in my sig to the exact specs, the sager was only about $150 bucks cheaper. not that big of a deal. plus i think the alienware looks a lot nicer than the sager, the sager just looks like a normal laptop. but the bottom line is that you cant go wrong with either of the choices and its childish to bash someone else because they bought from a different company. so you, new york drama queen, you need to grow up, you made a good choice with your laptop, and so did the people that bought the alienware 7700, dont rain on our parade, we dont rain on yours.

Yeah, not that much of a price difference, but the 7700 still doesn't come with a TV Tuner, internal Bluetooth, 3.8 CPU, etc.

none of those things mater to me, i dont have a bluetooh phone or anything, so i dont need that, i have a tv, dont need a tv tuner, and the 3.8ghz cpu is overkill, I wouldnt notice the difference between that and the 3.6 anyway.

those are little things that I (and i'm sure many others) wont use/need for any practical reason.

I didn't think I needed a tv tuner either..but its going to work wonder for clearing out my TiVo box...Just got to buy my DVD burner next ..

i dont need a bluetooth anything, the bluetooth technology is very flawed and extremly insecure, i'd rather not have bluetooth...

you have no logic my friend. like i've said before, the sager is only about $100-200 cheaper. not that big of a deal. the sager has a tv tuner, i dunno about you, but i already have a TV. the sager has bluetooth, maybe you have a bluetooth phone or something but i dont. the sager has the 3.8ghz processor, i'm willing to bet that you would never notice the difference between the 3.8 and even the 3.2 outside of benchmarks.

you say you are 23, but you type like you are a 12 year old AOL kid, but with an even lower IQ. you talk about wait times yet you say you are going to recieve your laptop on jan 8, i should be getting mine before the new year. i can also tell that you know hardly anything about computing because you assume that RAID 0 and 2 gigs of ram will automatically increase multi tasking power. thats not true. right now it is very hard to utilize 1 gig when not gaming or doing any graphicly heavy program like photoshop. so unless you will be doing photoshop while surfing the net, while playing something like doom 3, while listening to music, while burning a DVD, you wont even use close to 2 gigs. so thats just a waste of your money. plus RAID 0 offers no performance increase in real world apps, so thats not really a plus.

your sager will probably be slightly better than my PC by about 9% in benchmarks due to the slightly faster processor. but thats it. if thats what you are trying to say, that you are 9% better, than fine. if thats what makes you happy. enjoy your glow in the dark spider pc, thats great for a first impression.

this thread has gotten retarded. I herby deem anyone that further participates in this thread war of Alien vs Sager to be a stinky poo-poo face. Everything is subjective when it comes to this, if your gear does what you want it to and your happy with it, then so be it and awesome for you. The best we can all do is offer our opinions on why we chose which systems we did and let others read our posts and make an educated decision for themselves. In my opionion one is no better than the other and I made my decisions based on a number of factors which I wont care to list. Thank you, the Freakizoid has spoken.
