Pioneer 470K AMD 64 (SAGER D4750), help required.

Hello to all on these boards.

Recently, (around sep/oct) I bought myself a Pioneer 470K AMD 64. These computers are assembled in Aaustralia and re badged as Pioneer, but from what I hear, they share the same chassis and components as the Clevo D470K, which again I understand to be the same as a Sager D4750.

Now I have only had the laptop a few months and it has only been since early December that my computer has begun to play up, now the problem is getting worse and worse and it is always locking up. It locked up playing Rome Total War, it even locks up playing RA2 and even just BROWSING WINDOWS!. Obviously this has become a highly aggrivating problem and I would like any assistance possible. Right now I am downloading Realtek drivers and i've just downloaded the AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP, Version (exe) 1.1.0.18. I am most wanting to find the BIOS 1.03 for my computer.

Also, in regards to the Bios, do I need 1.02 then 1.02, or just install 1.03 strait on? So, as of now, I plan to format my hard disk, put o a clean install of Windows and start from there.

If you want bios 1.03, you simply need to scroll down on the forum and you'll see a thread concerning it posted. Please read the forum a bit before asking so that people don't have to re-answer the same questions over and over. There is also an even newer 1.04 firmware but it doesn't include the newer fan firmware so you'd be best to do 1.03 before 1.04 if you want that new fan firmware also. Maybe we should get those 2 threads stickied.

And to answer your other question, you can flash to whatever firmware you want without flashing the versions in between.

I assume pioneer also provided you with that ancient 7.9 ati driver so after flashing firmwares, rip out that ancient thing and put in a hacked catalyst 4.12 or omega driver or something.

Good luck

Just go to sagers website and download the true updated ati driver after upgrading your bios.

You can use theirs, but its still out of date being based on catalyst 4.8 or something like that.

I really see no use in using the manufacturer drivers since hacking the cat's or using omega's work just fine. I really wish ati would just include support for the mobile chips right in the cat's and be done with it already.

Hey, for the record, should I be using the mobile cpu drivers or the standard ones, cause it doesn't appear that they are infact mobility processors...?
