My 8790 was getting a bit freaky all around after the XP patch.
I've been waiting to see all the horror stories realated to the new bios for both the MB & Video. I did'nt really see any that kept me from doing the bios up-grade, so I did it. This machine is ripping again! I'm sorry I waited.
No Issues. No Problems. Do It!

i'm a little confused, i know about the bios update on the sager support web page. i also know about the ati video drivers on the same page. i have not seen the video bios update. is there a seperate vid bios update? if so how do i obtain such a thing.

There has been talk of such a thing; however, the general conclusion is that if you need it, you should go to Sager for it as it may cause more harm than good.

If you don't have a problem, then you probably don't need it. If you do, contact Sager support.

Update Report since New Bios Install for MB & Video

Wheeeeew! Still Rockin' since my double bios up grade! I have been a Multi Appin’, Photo Shoppin' CS Sourcin' fool and not one blip! I actually lost my cool in a Counter Strike session and head butted an opponent due to lack of bullets through my LCD screen. The impact never even left a mark! Thanks to my new and improved video bios, my Sager Brick can handle it all!
OK, maybe that's a bit of an over statement; but when this machine is running like this; I'm a real happy guy. Honestly, this is they way I would expect it to run. I'll let you all know if I run into any thing, but so far...
Smoking!
Best Regards,
Angelo

I contacted sager, inquiring about my serious artifacting issues and they sent me three files I could use in order to upgrade the system by myself. One of them was the bios update, the others were new drivers for the video card and a video bios update, respectively 879V10.ISO, M11_804.exe and 879V4.ISO.

Among you who did all the upgrade by yourself and got a working system after it, could you write down please the steps for the process?

Thx.

psicho could i get you to email me the video bios please. morphia78@yahoo.com

i've been trying to figure out my problem with jerky video in the new counter strike, i'm wondering if this bios would help.

Real simple make the ISO's into cd's using nero and then boot of said cd's and they do the rest. Once bios updates are done do the video driver update. Also make sure your plugged into the wall an on AC not DC power. Other than that you can't really mess it up.
