hey guys, post here when you guys ordered your 9860 and if you have received your tracking number or lappy yet. I want to see what kind of timeframe i'm looking at.

I ordered on the 23th and still waiting.

paid by check took longer...

Mine took 2 weeks, but I paid by check.

I ordered on-line (PC Torque) 12/9.
They rec'd check and deposited it 12/15.
I rec'd Laptop 12/23... which was a day earlier than UPS predicted.
(pay by credit card if you want to save ~1 week).

But I am still waiting on the USB floppy...
Luke is working on getting it for me I hope! (please!)

Awesome laptop PC... Does everything advertised....
Even runs ANSYS Multiphysics FEA (finite element analysis) great (especially for a laptop).
No Dead pixels too.....

Gonna load ProE Wildfire on it next.

Engineers deserve "toys" too ya know....

Thanks guy for your responses. it looks like the time frame is around 10-14 days from your order date. Thats means i'll receive my around 1/4. Can't wait.

I ordered from PCTorque on the 25th with free ground shipping. I've gotten the call back from them, but I don't know when I'll get it. Hopefully before January 17th as I go back to college then and it's across the country. Wouldn't want to have my parents ship that thing.

I ordered on the 21st from PCTorque. Got a confirmation email and authorization phone call the next day. Haven't heard anything else yet. But I understand that there is a 10-14 day delay due to supply from Sager.

Wait is the "authorized phonecall" thing mandatory? Because theres no way they'll get in contact with me. I got my invoice via email from luke last night so hoping it's just waiting for one to come in from sager.

I dunno if it's mandatory. Someone called me and said it was normal procedure to call to ensure it was a legit order.

Well if they email me about not being able to get in contact with me over the phone guess I'll just have to cancel and go back with Alienware. I know they're just trying to protect people, but theres such a thing as too much protection! Shouldn't have to spend 2 weeks confirming who I am to buy something off the internet.

Just give them a call and confirm right over the phone, thats what i did

I finally made the decision to purchase the NP9860 rather than Alienware & Hypersonic. I used http://www.discountlaptops.com rather than http://pctorque.com - sorry guys, but I live in FL.

Made the order on 12/29 - of course, I have to get the "authorized phonecall" to be legal. Thats ok, because I received also confirmation that the laptop will ship 01/07/2005.

I purchased the 9860 earlier this week from *********. they were extremely helpful regarding some special requests (if x800 becomes available before ship date, they'll have sager switch the card; they'll have their sales rep at sager personally look over the machine for dead pixels and to ensure its working perfectly). it should ship by the 7th. they were really accomodating with some other things as well.

this can't hurt...for the pixels...

Ordered mine on 12/21 form the good folks at PCTorque. Just now got my tracking number and it will be here Monday Jan 3. This will be a VERY long weekend.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Pixel Bananners...

Got my shipped email! No tracking number though since it's to a FPO, tracking would be pointless. Should arrive in about 3 weeks I hope. Here's to the hope for a perfect screen!

Got the 3.6 btw, 1gb ram, 2x 60gb sata in raid0, both optical drives. SHOULD of got the tv turner to "max" it out, and I could hook up a console to it as well, but little late now.
