Backordered Items Delay?

Im sorry that I post for every thought I get about my computer..>BUT, being my 3rd AW, this one im most excited about for some reason...SO, my question is...

My processor was backordered until the 11th when I ordered on 12/13/04, and the same processor is still backordered if you configure a PC (FX-55), But, I jumped from phase 5 to 9 in 7 days, are they actually building my computer or are they toying with me? How could they build my PC when they dont have my processor? I hit phase 9 on Monday, 12/27/04, and it is still on 9 3 days later...I was hoping mine would be done 1 day later like it seems most of your orders were.. Anyways, cross your fingers for me that it will ship thursday or friday!

(you guys on these boards are great, no flaming, just a big AW family.. im proud to be a part of it!)

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I changed my order three three times last week, and I've confirmed the order was changed, wouldnt that have delayed it even more? I've heard of ppl's AW shipping maybe 1 day before the est. date, but 3 weeks before? Do you think they might bump returning customers or something?

PE,

To find out exactly what's happening, send a PM to Alienware-JuanG (you know him right?) with your account information. He'll be able to tell you exactly what's going on me thinks.

Awesome, thanks...I've been so afraid to contact AW because it seems like a "too good to be true" situation, and they will probably say, oh, our mistake, its still on 4...lol.

heh,

Well as a 3 time buyer, I'm sure you know the drill. Their phase system is a generalization that keeps you roughly informed of where you are in the process. It's not rocket science but its gives us all something to worry about eh?

Hang in there bro! btw...did you ever post the specs? Didn't you say it was kind of like mine?

Thanks craig, Yeah, its identical to yours other than me going with 2 gigs or RAM. I know the phase game by now, and i was doing good at being very patient, until my order jumped to phase 9 3 weeks early, now im overwhelmed with excitement! BTW, i just PMed Juan so I can see whats going on..

Well I am personally driving my sales guy insane. I think I have changed my order some 10+ times now, lost track. I still show phase nine, but all is good. Hang in there.

Yeah I would thing building your rig without the processor is most likely. I know when I've upgraded my prcoessors at home it really doesn't effect the rest of my rig at all. Just lift up the ZIFF lever, seat the processor, lower the lever, install cooling fan and attach the side colver, box and ship.

I hope it goes that smooth for you.

RUXOR - what color did you decide on
