Look at the tone of your post and response. You obviously have a bias. Since youre considering getting a shuttle then IF this were a PC youd be much more open minded so obviously the OS is the issue.

You right. There certainly weren't small computers for those uses before...
Have you even seen the mini yet? Theyre rediculously tiny . Outside of laptops, Shuttles were the "small computers" up until last month. You could probably stack 4 of these to equal one shuttle.

Well that's the differene between you and me; I don't don't buy things I have no use for.
Ill bet thats not true. Everyone who wastes that much time talking to anonymous message board members (4500 posts in 10 months?) probably has a drawer full of items they thought theyd use but never used to the fullest. Im exaggerating where i say i have no use for the Mini. I wanted to try the OS for years and this is an affordable chance. Once i get it im sure i'll figure out several things to do with it. So no need to stroke your ego too hard.

I'm not sure where you got the connection to shuttles from, but the Mini is nothing like a shuttle. A shuttle has a decent graphics card and other more performance oriented components. Heck, Intel Extreme Graphics 2 is probably better than the ATi 9200 in the Mini.

And where the heck are you getting this "Wooster hates Macs and everything associated with them" thing from? The only bad thing I've ever said about Macs is that they aren't good for gaming, which is true.

Actually, I don't. And since when does my post count have anything to do with Mac Minis?

I don't quite see how you were exaggerating when you said "this thing sparked my interest enough that i ordered one even though i have zero use for it"...

Have fun. Personally, I wouldn't spend $500 just to test out different software, but to each his own...

What does this have to do with anything? Please explain how I have been stoking my ego.

No, no it's not. I had a Radeon 8500 (very similar to the 9200 peformance wise) in my work computer that failed. Pulling it out and resorting to the onboard Intel Extreme 2 graphics resulted in nearly a 50% peformance hit in World of Warcraft on average. Walking into a crowded zone in the game is impossible, as the graphics lag gets bad enough for the server to time me out.

Are you sure it was Extreme Graphics 2, and not the older version?

Its not that I wouldn't believe you if it was in fact Extreme Graphics 2, it just that I've heard different stories about the performance of Extreme Graphic 2...

I'm very sure. The control panel shows an "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" option, and opening it reveals it is a graphics chip of 82865G.

Benchmarks showing this chipset against an ATI 9100 IGP and NForce 2, along with a Radeon 9200 and GeForce 5200 are here.
