Screen 17" WXGA+ 1440x900 native resoultion. Very sharp!
Looks very clear full screen at all lower resoultions too. (i'm impressed)
Same width as a LCD 19" 4:3 screen
Same height as a LCD 15" 4:3 screen
High brightness (I'd estimate 350:1+ contrast ratio)
Crystal clear and NO sparkle effect whatsoever.
0 faulty pixels
Colors not as rich as a Samsung 213T but still very very good.
Processor 1.8 ghz Centrino performs the same as destop pentium 4 3.0 w/ht
60G hd 5400 performs very well.
CD/DVD drive a bit noisy but ok. Not as sleek as front loading Gateway M505x
512 meg ram ok but 1gig will be better for gamers.
Fans keep system very very cool and are not noticable unless you really put your ear close to the vents on the sides.
CPU 25-30 C for most system use
CPU 45-55 C gaming

I currently have a Gateway 505XL, and am considering moving up to the Dell I9200 with WUXGA screen. You mention the GW 505X in your review, and I'm curious if you have/had Gateway 505X machine as well before getting the 9200? If so, I would love to get your comparisons between the 9200 and Gateway 505X in the following areas:

1) Sound - I love the sound on the 505, is the the 9200 comparable? Better?
2) DVD movie playback. I love watching DVD's on the 505. Great display and not much fan noise during DVD playback.
3) Fan noise. This is a biggie for me. The 505XL is a dream for me on the issue of fan noise. It rarely comes on when playing DVD's and when using Photoshop (I don't do gaming). What' your experience with fan noise using the 9200 under various conditions (DVD playback, Photo editing)? Prior to getting the 505, I had the 675XL model and exchanged it due to the fan noise, and the fact that the fan was always on.
4) Heat. I use the 505X on my lap a lot and don't have problems with excessive heat. Does the 9200 get excessively hot underneath?
5) Display. Sounds like you don't have the WUXGA, which I plan to get, but does your WXGA+ have the sparkle coating on it? And how does the display compare to the 505, which I like a lot?

Thanks very much for any comments,
HR

Sound: The 9200 is just as good if not better.
DVD movie playback: Low hum barely audable from DVD spinning.
My M505x is silent playing DVD movies.
Quality on both is excellent. Can't beat that front loading IMHO
Fan noise: Unless you put your ear next to the vents you cannot hear the fans on the 9200. Eaven quieter than the M505x fan which is very quiet itself.
Heat: hardly any heat produced by the 9200 (amazing)
9200 runs cooler than my M505x
9200 ave temp 25-35C Gaming 45-55C
M505x ave temp 35-45 Gaming 50-60C
Display: WXGA+ 1440x900 Zero I mean no sparkle at all.
Colors are very close to the fantastic M505x quality.
I believe the M505x screen has a higher contrast ratio.
Both screens are very bright at the highest settings.
