we were talking about two DESKTOPS...2.8 HT (socket 478) the AMD machine was NOT the 64 bit version. I was saying that it DID NOT make sense...why would I post something that was a fact...this is to point out that, at least, my system was crummy

Craig has his reasons for his attacks we (all moderators in the forums) go into detail about this kind of stuff and they turn out legit usually in favor of the mod because the poster caused some sort of ruckus on top of previous accounts of bad actions.

the 3000 xp is faster than the 2.8ghz pentium4 lets end that there please no more discussion about this nonsense ok?

You must not know too much about computers to know that clock speed is not everything. But what I want to know is can you build a P4 2.8ghz HT, with OS for the cost you can purchase one from Dell. If you are looking for a a high end gamer machine with the best test scores you build it yourself (you OC it, buy a great board like ASUS/ABIT, get a WD RAPTORs setup with RAID 0,get high end corsair memory, 500watt or higher PSU), or bend over buy an Alienware/Falcon etc.

Dell makes great computers for the money. Most benchmarks do not mean jack, other than FPS in games. You will not be able to tell the real world difference between your home job barton and the p4 2.8ghz HT. I used to OC, I just got sick of the fan noise, with my Dells, they are quite, pretty cheap and they work well and are built with good components.
