Yep, my good ol' Pioneer 470K just died.

Yeh, I finally managed to be able to get that BIOS upgrade 1.03 on to disk via Nero and get it to boot in BIOS. I go to install it, the red bar is about 1/3 across and bust, it dies on me, now I cannot even start it up or anything!

So I am guessing I should give pioneer a call and get them to repair it ASAP.

Fun thing is that flashing the bios yourself is not covered under warranty.

Does the unit appear to power on at all?

Nah, I hold the power button and nothing happens
It's plugged into power, it's just dead.

hmm. I wonder if phoenixbios 6 has emergency recovery utilities. Definitely time to call tech support. They may know of a back door on these things in cases like this.

YES! They should have my baby back by next week. Atleast I kept my trap shut about the BIOS, well, I'm luck, very lucky I guess, they said is was a GPU/Mainboard issue (original problem), I guess my BIOS stuff up was just the piece of straw which broke the camel's back.

BTW, how can I get my BIOS flashed without voiding the warrenty?
You can't.... thats the fun part about it UNLESS they provide you with explicit instructions to do so and they provide you the files. Chances of a bios flash failing are actually pretty slim if done properly (and there are no hardware problems)... disable your antivirus if doing it in windows
