Acer 2025 running SP2.

My Acer 2025 has been a superb machine in all regards, except for one niggling little issue. Service Pack 2 (SP2). I read about the wireless locking up on return from standby, and the various prescribed fixes I gleaned from the internet.

Up until Nortons antivirus crapware ruined my flawlessly performing configuration, I avoided SP2 because of the wifi issue.

Heres the good. I went down to Frys and snagged a Seagate 100g 5400rpm drive. I didnt need a drive, but I wanted one to experiment with the restore disks from Acer, which worked perfect. It set up the new drive in about 30min, exactly as the original had been right out of the box.

I then installed SP2, and the wifi problem did in fact occur, no return from standby without a reboot. I tried the fixes, "zero config service", "proset software" etc. to no avail. Finally I found the fix. Its embarassingly simple..

Go to Intel and download the newest 2200bg wireless drivers! Duh. It even lists these as a critical update because of this very problem.

As of this writing that is v.9.0.1.9. It should work on the whole Acer 2020 series.. 2023 2025 2026

Machine is now running flawlessly with all SP2 services.

Hi, I've never had this problem, and never heard of it, with my laptop...
